JAY-Z Sued Over ‘Reasonable Doubt’ Royalties

JAY-Z has been sued over royalties for Reasonable Doubt, according to TMZand confirmed by documents obtained by Pitchfork.
Raynard Herbert aka Ray Rae claims that he helped master and land a distribution deal for Hov’s debut album in exchange for 1% of sales. Documents show that Herbert received checks up until November 2008; he then followed up with the label about payments in 2010 but got no response.
JAY, Damon “Dame” Dash, and Kareem “Biggs” Burke are being sued for breach of contract and unjust enrichment, asking for not only the percentage he’s owed, but interest, damages and extra fees too. Herbert says JAY ACTED “with malice and in conscious disregard” of his rights.
